Welcome to Maryland Veterinary Surgical Services (MVSS). We are a high-quality, family-owned, client-oriented, patient-centered surgical referral practice located in the heart of Catonsville, MD. MVSS was founded by Dr. Tom Sooy in 1988 with the intent of providing outstanding veterinary surgical care at an affordable price. Dr. Honor Ame Walesby purchased the practice in April of 2010 and has continued Dr. Sooy's mission. The practice has continued to thrive over the years as a function of surgical expertise, exceptional patient care and comprehensive client education.

At MVSS we realize how important your companion is to you and your family. The decision to pursue surgery can be overwhelming. Dr. Walesby strives to provide information, education and resources to make the decision-making journey more understandable and less daunting. After the initial history and physical exam, she will review the findings, diagnosis and treatment options with you in order to ensure the best possible outcome for you and your beloved companion.
