Thrifty!
This is a huge thrift store that is really easy to get to, just take the 57 bus to harvard ave. Like most thrift stores, they have plenty of old and ugly clothes, but there's also a good mix of usable, fashionable stuff in there too. All sizes, colors, styles, and a section for furniture too. If you don't like anything, keep checking back. They get new stuff all the time.Browser's paradise
I am a sucker for thrift stores, and this one always satisfies my need for browsing. You can spend a great deal of time in here shifting through the toys, clothes and furniture. Like any other thrift store some things are in better shape than others, but some good deals can be found if you look hard enough. The store gets uncomfortably crowded if there are more than a few people shopping at once because of the way it is layed out. Staff was decent, but sometimes difficult to locate someone when you're ready to buy.don't eat the moth-balls
This place is what it sounds like. Old peoples things, cheap. There are tons of clothes, all sizes and styles. Sports coats, jeans, t-shirts, dresses, i think even gowns. For the average guy, buyi...I Love Thrift Stores
This cramped Allston shop bills itself as a family thrift store. Start with the children's clothes in the front racks, wander back to the men's sports jackets (including some wild plaids) and then meander into the women's section, which boasts a huge number of dresses and shoes, all arranged by color. In the back you will find home goods like silverware, dishes, plates, pots and pans. This shop has a great assortment of paperback books, and you might even find some bestsellers among them.Bad Place, bad service
You can find some things good things in this store, but you don't want to go there if you are a black person. I went to this store a couple of weeks ago and the cashier asked me to leave my bag with him, despite the fact that there were several white women and some white men with their bags and backpacks. Surprisingly, the two cashiers were minority people: a Mexican guy and a black woman, regular victims of racial profiling. Go there only if you want to be treated as a criminalBetter deals and merchandise at Good Will
This place is just OK. It has a funny smell to it when you walk in, but hey, so do all thrift stores. The way they organize the merchandise is a bit weird... by color... and in multiple places for each color... Anyways, I haven't had any FAB finds here. I'd recommend just walking a few blocks to Babcock at Comm Ave and shopping at the Good Will there.Bewre the Gold Toothed Cashier
I have always liked the store until I had an encounter with the female cashier with the gold tooth.Worldwide > United States > Allston > Thrift Shops
