The Friends of Lewis and Clark Bicentennial established in 2002 is a 501c3 nonprofit foundation whose mission is to provide free information to the public about the Lewis and Clark Expedition, and to promote travel on today’s Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail.

The Ohio River region includes today’s leading visitor attractions in Pittsburgh, camping and hiking in western Pennsylvania, Pittsburgh, West Virginia, Ohio, Louisville, Kentucky, Indiana, Shawnee National Forest, southern Illinois, St. Louis, and eastern Missouri.
The Great Rivers region includes some of today’s leading visitor attractions in southern Illinois, the St. Louis Arch, Missouri, Kansas City, Kansas, and southeast Nebraska.
The Great Plains region includes today’s leading visitor attractions in western Iowa, the Lewis and Clark Bike Trail, Omaha, eastern Nebraska, hiking and camping at Nebraska state parks, and southeast South Dakota.
The Rocky Mountain region includes some of today’s leading visitor attractions in South Dakota, Medora and North Dakota, Montana, and is the trailhead to Yellowstone National Park.
The Pacific Northwest region includes some of today’s leading visitor attractions in Montana, Idaho, Washington, the Columbia River Gorge, Mt. Hood, Portland, and Oregon’s North Coast.
