Board-certified dermatologist Dr. Cheryl Burgess is a doctor in Washington DC providing care from her practice, the Center for Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery. She founded this practice and is presently its president. With offices in Washington DC as well as Annapolis MD, patients can undergo the needed care at either location. Dr. Burgess is well known for expertise in dermatology and for her countless contributions to dermatology, on a national as well as international level. She is highly experienced and skilled, and maintains a high standard of care at her practice.

Attending the Howard University College of Medicine located in Washington DC and graduated with her doctorate in medicine. Dr. Burgess followed this up with an internship in internal medicine at the Howard University Hospital, as well as a dermatology residency. She maintains memberships with many well-known dermatology and medical organizations. These include the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Dermatology Society, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. In addition to this, she is a member of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, of which she is also a director.

Dr. Burgess is a researcher and author. Her articles have been published in many peer-reviewed journals, such as the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, and Journal of Drugs in Dermatology, among others. She is the author and senior editor of Cosmetic Dermatology as well, which is published by Springer-Verlag. Aside from this, Dr. Burgess contributions are present in many textbooks, such as the Sauer’s Manual of Skin Diseases.
