Christopher Armbruster

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor at Foresight Mental Health. I received my Master's Degree Ed.S in Counseling at Rider University in 2005 with a focused concentration on Educational Psychology and and Human Development throughout the lifespan with a kaleidoscope of various issues addressed and experiences in development throughout the growing years entering into adulthood. I have many years of experience working in Community-Based, Outpatient and Mental Health Settings within several populations served. I was also recognized as a (NCC) National Certified Counselor and have provided volunteer services through (NHSC) National Health Service Corps where I helped provide mental health services for the underserved community. I have a strong passion and intrinsic interest for working with the young population and older adults combined in order to assist them in developing and utilizing the necessary coping skills to manage and thrive during difficult times and life transitions, as well as needed change with both a cognitive-behavioral emphasis on desirable outcomes and spiritual and personal freedom to choose as an agent of change of their own conscious thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in order to produce positive healthy changes in their lives. My other specialized areas within the adult population include anger management, depression, anxiety, coping skills, interpersonal conflict, stress management and spirituality. My therapeutic style and approach is a personalized, client-centered perspective: focusing on genuineness, empathy, and helping clients connect their thoughts, feelings, and actions in a healthy and productive way to help enhance personal growth and improved freedom to make positive choices with increased spiritual freedom. I spent the majority of my clinical therapy experience working with teens, adults, and older adults utilizing interventions from cognitive behavioral therapy, strength-based approaches, and mindfulness/ spiritual practices as well as more holistic approaches tailored to accommodate the mental health needs for every individual.
