Care Philosophy:
The pillars upon which I’ve built my practice include the following:
#1. Listening & Open-Mindedness:
Excellent medical care is only possible when the doctor is a skillful & dedicated listener, who seeks to understand their patients, with an open heart and mind. They would do well to assume the patient and their parents know way more about the patient than they ever could.
#2: Education & Empowerment:
Teaching patients and their families about their conditions and treatment options is empowering & foundational in helping them achieve and maintain overall health.
#3 Bio-Psycho-Social:
Accurate diagnosis and effective treatment depend on the child psychiatrist understanding the biological, psychological and social factors. They must collaborate with parents, schools and other providers. A family centered approach is helpful, if not essential, in most cases.
#4: Evidence-Based:
It is every physician’s legal and ethical obligation to continuously learn and strive to stay atop the latest, greatest scientific evidence. We owe it to our patients and should bring nothing less than our “A Game,” to each and every patient contact.
