About Us
Kenya Williams, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist with fellowship training in ophthalmic and facial plastic surgery. In her busy surgical practice – Chicago Oculofacial Consultants, which has locations in the Millenium Park and Rush neighborhoods of Chicago and another in Evanston, Illinois – she exclusively performs reconstructive and aesthetic surgery on the eyelids and surrounding tissue. She specializes in the evaluation and treatment of problems of the eyelid, eye socket, and tear duct that are a result of aging, trauma, and tumors. 
A native of Hyde Park, Dr. Williams completed her undergraduate education at Spelman College and then returned to the Chicago area, where she received her medical degree from Chicago Medical School.
Dr. Williams completed her residency in ophthalmology at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. After developing an affinity for plastic and reconstructive surgery, she completed a fellowship at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in oculoplastic and orbital surgery.
Currently in private practice at Rush University Medical Center, Dr. Williams works very closely with other physicians to provide optimal care for patients. She routinely treats conditions like eyelid twitching, eyelid cancer, eyelid bumps, and ptosis, or droopy eyelids. Medical conditions in and around the eye often affect nearby structures, including the nasal passages and sinuses. As a result, the best treatment for these conditions requires a team-based approach. In these cases, Dr. Williams collaborates with otolaryngology (ENT), craniofacial plastic surgery, and dermatology specialists, which facilitates exceptional, personalized care.
In addition to maintaining a busy practice, Dr. Williams has a strong sense of responsibility and is committed to service and education. She has dedicated much of her time inspiring and training the generation of physicians. She has mentored medical students at Rush University Medical Center and Rosalind Franklin University/Chicago Medical School. She also teaches Oculoplastic and Reconstructive Surgery to the resident physicians at John H. Stroger Jr. and Rush University Medical Center.
Dr. Williams holds several memberships and affiliations, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Illinois Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons, the Chicago Ophthalmological Society, and the North American Society of Academic Orbital Surgeons.
