Worst Customer Service
I went there shopping with my friend who is getting married. The first thing that I found suspicious is that she had called requesting a certain designer, and they said they carried it. When she called to confirm the appointment and to give specific style numbers, they told her that they only carried certain items, not the entire line. This place stinks! Plain and simple.
As I understand there are rules to be followed as in any other store, I do feel that there is a form of service that should be rendered if you're going to have a sh*t ton of rules to follow. The rules are not any different than any other store I've gone to - no pictures, no info, no deposit, no dress. Got it. I work in an electronics shop and understand why. If you can't make up your mind and you don't have favorites, then this is not the store for you, but if you do, just buy it. Ok, so I went in here and I found a dress that was a possibility and wanted my mom to come in and see it, holy cow....all hell broke loose! I was asked to leave the fitting room because it wasn't a waiting room, ok whatever. My mom lives in Morton Grove and was running late. As I was about to put money down even though my mom wasn't there and didn't see this dress I was about to buy, the sales girl tell me that the dress I'm about to buy is mistagged and that it's actually $2000 more than the tagged price! It was tagged at $900. I thought I miheard her! After the hell I went through and giving the store the complete benefit of the doubt, this is how they play me! I left without a dress. I was lucky though, a bride that was leaving the store disgusted as well gave me the number to another boutique in Chicago on Irving Park she had an appointment with, that was about 15 minutes away. I called and asked if they had an appointment and they did, so I called my mom to take a detour and meet me at that store instead. All in all, after making an appointment with Eva's, putting up with the cr*p they put me through, wasting an hour and a half of my time, and walking out with a bad taste in my mouth about the whole experience, I'm glad I didn't leave a penny of my money behind. Don't waste your time at this dump. There are other stores in Chicago that work for the money they make, Eva's won't lift a finger to help but will try to charge you as if they did. Terrible.Eva's of Chicago is great if....
I did not purchase my gown there but a lot of my friends did...and were very happy. Eva's of Chicago is great if they can screen their brides and only service the ones that can read or have half an ounce of common sense. Everything in their policies that some of you resent is all posted and explained clearly to every bride...and, really, they are not the only bridal salon that won't give you the designer's name or a free zipper bag. Davids charges $15.00 for each bag. Other stores charge up to $30.00. Trust me, I've been there. I realize it is the consumer's market today, but enough is enough. Just because you're buying your gown at a bridal salon, they really don't have to give shares in the business. How else do you expect a store, any store, to stay in business, if they give you a great price, free pressing, free garment bags, free etc., etc., etc.,.E N O U G H! Look at their rating with the Better Business. They have the best rating in the entire state. They are obviously making a lot of brides very, very happy.I'm not sure why there are such bad reviews here!
I'm not quite sure why there are so many bad reviews of Eva's Bridal on here, but I hope that I don't have to find out! I went here this past weekend with my mom. I was having trouble finding the wedding dress that I wanted (at least in my price range anyway), after frequently some of the better stores in Chicago, decided to try coming out to a few of the stores in this area. We ran late from our previous appointment, but they let us move our appointment back, which was nice of them. The store is not fancy but I wouldn't say that the conditions were anything to notably complain about either. My consultant, Dalia, was amazing! She was so nice, she was really a treat to work with. I tried on a few dresses, some of which were eh, and a couple that I really liked, until I found "the one". She did not have any problem telling us the designer of each dress, so I'm not sure what the "no info" reviews were about (I know they wouldn't tell us designers at Kasia's, but they were also nice there too). But I was still torn between that one, and another one I had seen at Macys, and we were going back to Macys the next day.THE WORST!
RUN don't walk away from this place. The dresses are all crammed into small hanging spaces along the walls. It looks as though they have kept every bad 80's prom, wedding, and homecoming dress and are trying to sell them as new and trying to sell them at the highest prices I have seen.Had Perfect Experience!!
I did some research online first and made an appointment because Eva's carried the specific line I was looking for. When I arrived I handed Judy the numbers for the dresses I wanted to try on and while tshe pulled those dresses she directed me to the floor to see if there was anything else I wanted to look at as well. I didn't mind her giving me some time to browse on my own. (I hate it at other stores when the salespeople follow me around stepping on my heels -- it's like go away! i'll let you know when I need you.") I ended up with about 10 dresses in the fitting room and as I tried on dresses Judy was very helpful and suggested others based on my responses to the ones I had on but she didn't smother me. I ended up trying on more than 20 dresses and had a blast. The last one I tried on was one of the ones I had asked for when I came in and let's just say I know what I like. Judy was extremely patient with me when I went from saying this was the dress to backtracking once I called my mother and sister across the country and she explained my options and gave me some time while I convinced them that I was not making a rash purchase. (Why I was shopping on my own is a whole other story.) When I was ready Judy came back and took my order and gave me a discount on the dress which was already a really good price. The seamstress took my measurements and the manager of the store came over to make sure I was happy. I felt very well taken care of. They kept in touch with me over the months until my dress arrived, tailored it with old world expertise -- guests at my wedding said the dress looked like it was made for me -- gave me advice on the accessories I was considering for the whole look, and shipped the dress to the state where I was getting married for free. What more could you ask for?Great Experience
I had some ideas of what I had in my mind for my wedding gown, so after I found a few stores that carried the designers I liked, I did my research to narrow down the number of places I would go to. Eva's Bridal had the best rating from the Better Business Bureau and had won the most awards from them, so I made sure that they were one of my stops.Worldwide > United States > Chicago, IL > Weddings
