The St. Albert Gazette was founded in 1961 in the centennial year of Alberta's oldest permanent settlement. Today the twice-weekly full-colour tabloid focuses on delivering award-winning journalism in print and online. The Gazette enjoys a strong readership of its print and online products. St. Albert is located in the beautiful Sturgeon River valley just outside of Edmonton's northern boundary. St. Albert is the sixth largest city in Alberta, with more than 65,000 residents. To the north another 34,000 people live in towns, villages, acreages and farms of Sturgeon County. All tolled the city has a regional trading area that exceeds one million people.
