Dr. Glenn Toth completed his residency in family medicine at Waukesha Memorial Hospital where he served as chief resident in 1993. He is a graduate of UW - Milwaukee and the Medical College of Wisconsin, is a native of Waukesha county, and is board certified in Family Medicine by the National Board of Physicians and Surgeons. He continues to pursue additional up to date training in Environmental Medicine and Functional Medicine as well as for the treatment of allergic and autoimmune diseases. He has completed basic certification in Chelation Therapy. The choice of Family Medicine was guided by the breadth of training, which lends itself well to a holistic approach to patient care. His approach to patient care is focused on an appropriately detailed history and a solid doctor/patient relationship.
Additional training has enabled Dr. Toth to care for complex, chronic illnesses for which many physicians have few answers or little time and experience. He works for the benefit of each patient as an individual; his approach to patient care seeks to find the underlying cause of illness rather than relying soley on the diagnosis of disease states and subsequent pharmaceutical therapy. Treatment focuses on these causes and natural, non-toxic therapies are used whenever possible. Pharmaceutical therapy and surgical intervention are used when clearly indicated or as a short-term measure until causes of illness can be identified and treated. The scientific method of observation - hypothesis - therapeutic trial is utilized routinely. As a physician, the role of critical thinking and problem solving is maintained. The use of protocols based on diagnosis is not felt to be in the best interest of the individual patient.
Dr.Toth has been board certified in Family Practice since 1994 and began private practice in 1999 after realizing the employed/corporate practice model contradicted his view of ideal patient care.
