You Are Here for a Reason
Maybe it’s Anxiety, Depression, Greif, or a Traumatic Experience that just won’t go away. Perhaps it’s a problem in your relationships, or something about your life that just doesn’t feel right, or you just need extra support for a major life decision or situation. As a professional therapist, I will be your guide and advocate while you take steps towards positive life changes, healing, and a healthy mind. Together, we’ll work to uncover and better understand the life challenges and day-to-day stressors that detract from your life. Together, we will begin identifying the root causes of your difficulties and in time you will become stronger, happier, and healthier. I’m here to listen and to help, to provide the guidance you need to change behavior patterns that are challenging you today.
As your therapist it will be my role to guide you through your process of exploration and discovery that will lead to a more satisfying and fulfilling life. My education in Mythological Studies and Depth Psychology, Professional Counseling, and EMDR training support and enrich my therapeutic orientation and techniques.
My therapeutic style is that of a collaborative relationship between therapist and client. In our sessions together I seek to create a warm, safe, non-judgmental, interactive atmosphere. Working together, we can bring the wisdom and inner strength of your highest and best self to your current difficulties and dilemmas. As my client, you will be encouraged to participate fully in your own healing and growth.
Counseling my clients has been the most rewarding and satisfying work I have ever done! That's why I have cut the cost of sessions in every way I can. I also offer packages for 4, 6, and 8 sessions at discounted rates. Real change only happens over time and with applied, mindful purpose.
Areas of Practice:
Anxiety:
Anxiety can take many forms including social anxiety, test anxiety, anxiety related to athletic performance, phobias, generalized anxiety – an overwhelming sense of worry and dread, and even panic attacks.
Depression:
The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) estimates that 25 million Americans will suffer with depression this year. While that number is astonishing, the more disturbing fact is that only half of those individuals will get help, so their symptoms intensify.
Grief and Loss:
Grief and loss are a part of life for all of us. Loss is not only related to the loss of a loved one but can also be related to moving, divorce, job loss, chronic illness or injury, aging and life transitions, or the loss of a dream.
OCD:
Those who struggle with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) know all too well that the general public typically tends to be misinformed about the true nature of this debilitating disorder.
Survivors of Sexual Truma:
The statistics for sexual abuse are staggering and the numbers are most likely underestimated due to the fact that the abuse often goes unreported. The Nation Center for Victims of Crime reports that 1 in 5 girls and 1 in 20 boys is a victim of child sexual abuse.
Chronic Illness and Pain:
Chronic illness and pain isn’t just about what is happening physically to our bodies. Although the physical implications are often drastic and far reaching so are the emotional, social, physical, financial, and even spiritual implications.
