The New York State Association of Black and Puerto Rican Legislators, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization based in Albany, New York. We bring together the most influential African-American, Hispanic, Caribbean and Asian leaders from every corner of the Empire State and beyond. Every year during President’s Day weekend, we host a three-day legislative conference in Albany, NY featuring multiple events. You’ll leave inspired and motivated to change the lives of young people for the better.

For over 47 years, we’ve been raising money for minority youth entering college. Our charity organization was created on October 11, 1985 and falls under Section 402 of the New York Not-for-Profit Incorporation Law. We seek to change lives by:


Empowering youth to continue their education
Educating others on the importance of financial aid for college
Gaining community support for our cause

Hilton Dispute Information:

On behalf of the Chair and the Board of Directors of the NYSABPRL, Inc., The Association is in the process of selecting a new host hotel for our upcoming Conference Weekend February 16-18, 2018. The Hilton is currently experiencing an ongoing labor dispute and we strongly support our union workforce. Please continue to check the webpage for updates regarding our host hotel and other lodging for the weekend. We are working hard to make your stay during the weekend comfortable.
