After excelling in her undergraduate studies at the University of California, San Diego, Dr. Hurvitz knew she wanted to provide expert dermatology care to patients in her hometown of Santa Barbara. She graduated summa cum laude with her medical degree from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. Dr. Hurvitz completed her dermatology training at the University of Southern California and served as chief resident of her program during her last year.
Dr. Hurvitz currently is board certified in dermatology and has been practicing since 2002. She specializes in skin cancer screening and detection, and offers the most advanced treatments available. Because Dr. Hurvitz has extensive experience and education in skin cancer and complex skin problems, she has become a trusted and respected expert in dermatology.

She strives to educate her patients about preventing and detecting skin cancer early on.
