Darien Integrative Medicine: Michael Doyle, MD

Michael E. Doyle, MD, is a board-certified family physician with over twenty five years of clinical experience. At Darien Integrative Medicine in Darien, Connecticut, he combines his extensive experience in both conventional and alternative medicine to offer his patients uniquely safe and effective care.
Dr. Doyle received his B.S. from Cornell University and his M.D. from the Georgetown University School of Medicine. After completing his family medicine residency at the University of Rochester, he practiced emergency medicine for several years.
He later served as medical director for a group of outpatient health centers. In these varied settings, he witnessed the limitations of modern medicine, both personally and professionally, and he felt that he had to find a better way to help his patients heal.
Dr. Doyle moved beyond his traditional primary care training.  He continued his independent research and pursued additional specialized training in his lifelong interests in nutrition and alternative medicine. At this point, he began to understand that the basic principles of nutritional and hormonal balance are the keys to better health.
In working with patients, he concentrates on integrating traditional methods with holistic approaches. Dr. Doyle believes the best medical care should help patients improve their health, not just make their “numbers” look good. Instead of using synthetic treatments to manage symptoms, he aims to identify and treat the underlying cause of illness.
He focuses on lifestyle, nutrition, hormonal health -- especially thyroid issues and adrenal insufficiency (sometimes called adrenal fatigue) -- blood sugar, and other key areas that influence your short- and long-term well-being.
Dr. Doyle treats patients of all ages and from many different backgrounds. With the help of his dedicated team, he enables individuals to not only achieve vibrant health but to improve their quality of life drastically.
