Description: Paul Bunyan Construction has been providing Log Homes, Log Accents, and Log Home Restorations in the Intermountain West since 1989. Our Log Home Structures and Log Accents are crafted using the Scandinavian full scribe method with a shrink fit saddle notch. These are chink-free style log homes. We also offer a chink- style log home that is chinked along the lateral length of the log wall. Each house log is hand selected to meet aesthetic & structural standards. The Owner Peter Karkoska personally goes out into the timber stands and selects the standing House, Truss, and Specialty logs to be used on each home. All logs are graded and stamped in accordance with the Timber Product Industry Standards. The house logs have an average mid- span diameter of 12″. Log sizes can be used from 14″, 16′, 18″, 20″ and up to 24″ in diameter. House and Log Accent log selection is from Douglas Fir, Engelmann Spruce, Western Red Cedar, Red Norway Pine and Southern Yellow Pine. Peter and his crew of craftsmen enjoy the variety and challenge of crafting anything from a 1,000 sq. ft. cabin to a 20,000 sq. ft. castle.
