Richard Horn, NP, is a skilled nurse practitioner and rheumatology specialist dedicated to providing state-of-the-art care for patients in and around Gilbert, Arizona, combining the most innovative medical treatments with lifestyle guidance and education to help his patients take control of their health and improve their quality of life. At the Bonhoeffer Rheumatology Institute, Richard offers comprehensive care for acute and chronic issues, including osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, fibromyalgia, and gout, focusing on a holistic approach that takes each patient’s individual symptoms, medical needs, health histories, and lifestyles into account.
Richard strives to build and maintain strong relationships with his patients, beginning with the initial evaluation and consultation and continuing through every stage of treatment. His goals are to help patients relieve symptoms, pursue and achieve remission, slow or stop disease progression, and lead healthier, happier lives.
In addition to caring for patients at the Bonhoeffer Rheumatology Institute, Richard assists his mentor, established rheumatologist, Dr. Michael Fairfax, with clinical research at Arthrocare Arthritis Care and Research, PC.
In 2004, Richard retired from a career with the Air Force Medical Reserves, and before embarking on his specialization in rheumatology, he spent nearly a decade in emergency medicine working with the Indian Health Service and the University of Arizona Medical Center Emergency Department.
Richard holds a Master in the Science of Nursing/Family Nurse Practitioner degree, as well as bachelor’s degrees in nursing and economics, a Master of Library and Information Science, and a postgraduate certificate from the American College of Rheumatology. In addition, Richard is a member of the American College of Rheumatology, American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, and the American College of Nurses Association.
