Monet Shook, DC offers chiropractic services to the residents of Smyrna, Tennessee and the surrounding area. Her practice, HealthSource Chiropractic Progressive Rehab & Wellness provides a variety of treatment options. Dr. Shook and her TEAM (Together Everyone Achieves More) offer unique treatment plans based on the patient's current evaluation, any physical trauma that may be present, as well as their past medical history. Each patient receives one-on- one, individualized care with the intent of fulfilling the patient’s needs for beginning care. Along with caring for patients with various types of health conditions, the TEAM also help with establishing healthy lifestyle habits, keeping children healthy, slowing down the aging process, and improving athletic performance.
By employing all of the treatment methods at their disposal, Dr. Shook and her TEAM can provide their patients with quality chiropractic care. The office is equipped with digital x-ray diagnostic equipment that allows the TEAM to provide the most accurate diagnosis possible. Once the diagnosis has been made, Dr. Shook and her TEAM develop a personalized and complete treatment plan to elicit the appropriate healing response. As healing progresses, Dr. Shook will continually monitor the patient's progress and help them to establish healthy patterns that will continue long after their injuries heal. Dr. Shook grew up in Nashville, Tennessee, the last of five children. She graduated from Tennessee State University with a bachelor of science degree in Cardio Respiratory Care Sciences. She worked as a respiratory therapist at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, TN for four years. After seeing little or no improvement in patients taking medication around the clock, she decided to seek out other forms of health care that involved working with the body instead of against disease. In 2012, Dr. Shook learned about chiropractic and the body’s innate ability to heal from within a properly functioning nervous system. She enrolled in Sherman College of Chiropractic to learn how to help people heal without drugs or surgery.
In school, she was a part of the Academy of Chiropractic Excellence program where she assisted her peers in developing their adjusting skills. She served on a mission trip providing chiropractic care to the people of Dominican Republic and Haiti in September 2013. In her free time she enjoys cooking, exercising, and spending time with family. She is trained in one of the most up to date analysis systems of chiropractic where she adjusts the most important subluxations in the body to allow for proper healing. These include Koren Specific Technique and Torque Release Technique. It is an incredibly specific analysis and adjusting technique that can be applied to any part of the body. With this system of analysis, one can know if a body part is subluxated or not, and if it has been corrected or not. You cannot over­adjust.
