James got his first taste of cycling his senior year of High School, when he took on a century ride, the Texas MS150. During his training for the MS150, he meet a group of riders that he still rides with today, these rider inspired his love for cycling and convinced him to compete in his first bike race. He was hooked! He started working in a local bike shop and eventually worked his way up to a large bicycle company, SRAM at the Colorado Springs facility. James loves cycling, it’s in his blood. Once James moved to Fort Collins, he discovered the Fort Collins Bike COOP. James continues to volunteer his time and help out this great non-profit organization. His passion for the cycling and the community is apparent in everything he does.
In 2013, James started a Diabetes Awareness non-profit called Team A1C. Team A1C is a bicycle ride that takes place once a year that goes from Steamboat Springs, CO to Fort Collins, CO. He created Team A1C as a non-profit to help educate and bring attention to the rapid rise of the disease.
