Our series of courses is open to individuals interested in training for entry-level jobs in the medical field. Classes for our instructor-led, online medical training are student self-paced and can be started at any time. Tuition for each course is $295.00. Additional fees may apply to some courses. Medical Billing
These courses prepare students for entry-level medical jobs with the accounting skills necessary in a doctor’s office or other medical facility. This 39-hour, 11-week course includes front-office management, filing Part B CMS 1500, filing Part A CMS 1450, all about Medicare, Medicare billing problems, Medicare as a secondary payer, Medicare and home health, and Medicare and women’s health. We offer continuous registration, so you can start at any time. The $64.00 online course access fee is payable with a credit card.
Advanced Coding CPT & Certification Exam Review
The Certification Exam Review, a non-credit module, is designed to prepare students to take the following: the Certified Professional Coder Examination which is (hospital-) administered by the American Academy of Professional Coders, the Certified Coding Associate exam administered by the American Health Information Management Association, and the Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist exam administered by the American Medical Billing Association. SpeedECoder is required for this course and continuous registration is available. The $64.00 online course access fee is payable with a credit card.
ICD-10-CM Using SpeedECoder
The transition to ICD-10 is required for everyone covered by the Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act (HIPAA). The code set allows more than 14,400 different codes and permits the tracking of many new diagnoses. The codes can be expanded to over 16,000 codes by using optional sub-classifications. The detail, reported by ICD, can be further increased with a simplified, multi-axial approach, and by using codes meant to be reported in a separate data field. You will need access to SpeedECoder, which includes ICD-10 and CPT codes and can be purchased for $108.00. Registration is continuous. Pharmacy Technician.
This online, sixteen-week, ninety-six-hour, instructor-led Pharmacy Technician Course provides the knowledge and practical skills for a career in hospital, home health care, mail order, and retail pharmacy environments. The Bureau of Labor Statistics states that the 2012 median pay was $29,320 per year, or $14.10 per hour. The job outlook is rising 20% faster that the average in all other categories. PTCB Certification Exam Review
This online, twelve-week, ninety-six hour instructor-led PTCB Certification Exam review course provides everything you’ll need to prepare and pass the new Pharmacy Technician certification exam, which became effective November 1, 2013. It includes 128 practice review questions from the PTCB, classification and pronunciation of the top 200 drugs, thirty videos of questions and answers, 300 multiple choice questions, flash cards matching generic names with brand names, 98 math problems with solutions, and a table of conversions. Medical Administrative Assistant
This sixteen-week, ninety-six-hour, online, instructor-led Medical Administrative Assistant Course provides training for the skills required to work as a medical administrative assistant. Course topics include electronic medical records, health insurance, basic medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, effective telephone etiquette, appointment scheduling, and internal and external customer services. After successful completion of the course, graduates will be eligible to sit for the National Health Career Association certification exam for medical administrative assistants (CMAA). Registration is continuous. The tuition is $200.00 per month for four months, which includes all course materials.
