Dashrabbit Taxi: Decatur, Atlanta, Conyers

Not long ago, the owner of DashRabbit Taxi Cab was driving around metro Atlanta picking up customers who needed a taxi cab ride to Decatur, the airport, grocery store, and just about any other place one could imagine. He drove and dispatched for a local DeKalb County company serving Decatur, Lithonia, Stone Mountain and surrounding areas. One day while sitting in his car waiting for the company’s dispatcher to give him his next call, his cell phone rang. He was told to bring the taxi in immediately as the company was officially closing for business. In shock, he quickly dialed the cab company’s phone number, only to have it ring continuously with no answer. The company was no longer sending out calls. That’s right — they actually closed for business, and he was left without a job with no clue about what to do next.

He knew the reason his past employer failed was due to his refusal to advance to today’s technology, recognize stiff taxi competition, and most of all, to eliminate poor customer service. Within a week, he came up with the idea to link together multiple taxi-cab companies and their drivers.

Could he get the public interested in a new company with modern technology and on-demand mobile apps? Most importantly, could he get other taxi drivers interested — good drivers that would work hard and truly care about their customers.

It didn’t take long for his idea to catch on! Drivers and passengers loved the fast and friendly service, and today DashRabbit Taxi continues to grow and thrive.
