Dr. Jim Sweet, since 1967.

Dr. Jim Sweet DDS has been practicing dentistry for more than 45 years. Upon graduation from North-western University Dental School in 1967, he began practice as an associate of one of his prosthodontic professors on Michigan Ave. in Chicago. That practice focused on prosthetic appliances for patients with special needs.

In 1968, Dr. Jim and his lovely bride, Carol, moved to Marengo, IL. Eleven Years later, they opened their Rockford practice. That practice served seniors with special needs.

Over the years, removable prosthetics has become the step-child of modern dentistry. The profession has moved into other areas, and fine –denture construction has become a lost art. High-profit denture mills have taken over the market. Jim Sweet DDS and Jay Sweet CDT have a combined experience of 70 years making highly sophisticated, removable dentures for patients with a broad variety of needs. Jay spent eight years at the University of Chicago's Dental Clinic making dentures, partials and full-arch implants.

Carol Sweet has supervised the office since its inception. Their daughter, Beth, is the practice hygienist. Amelia, the youngest Sweet, is the practice expediter. Debbie Genovese has worked off & on for the practice since its earliest days. Laurie Slaughter has worked in the dental office for more than 20 years. Debbie runs the treatment rooms, while Laurie manages the business office.
