Attorney Joseph R. Smith received his B.A. from Salem State University and his J.D., cum laude, from Massachusetts School of Law. While a law student, Attorney Smith was the recipient of seven CALI Excellence for the Future Awards, which are given to the highest scoring student in each law school class at participating law schools. Prior to joining The Law Office of Smith and Rooney, P.C., Attorney Smith practiced in the areas of civil litigation, mortgage foreclosure, post foreclosure summary process, and condominium lien law. He is admitted to practice law in Massachusetts and in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts.
Attorney Dennis P. Rooney received his B.S. from the University of Massachusetts, cum laude, and his J.D. from Massachusetts School of Law. Prior to post-secondary education, Attorney Rooney served honorably through two enlistments in the United States Marine Corps and is a retired Wilmington Police Officer. During his time as a police officer, Attorney Rooney received several awards for excellence including being named the department’s Mothers Against Drunk Driving Officer of the Year for the years 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013. This award is given annually to the officer that goes above and beyond in the pursuit of the enforcement of drunk driving offenses. He is admitted to practice law in Massachusetts and in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts.
