've been a member for over a year now. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!! The atmosphere has more of a "family" feel. The instructors are relentless on the mats and will push you as far as possible to make each class the best one yet. They are professional, friendly and have your best interest to fitness, good health and healthy eating at heart! They are the faces that greet you and "HIGH FIVE" you between rounds and after class! Membership: It is not the cheapest yearly membership (what gym is ~ none!), but it gives you multiple options (early morning through later evening) every day to make a class, including the weekends (morning hours). So, it works around your schedule regardless of what your daily work schedule is. AND they offer numerous varieties of membership plans, so it is AFFORDABLE for most people! It doesn't have to be a yearly membership. My daughter has a membership for X amount of classes. If you have a "special rate" or "Groupon" and decide to join, your original fee is deducted from your NEW membership total! How easy is that? Have a friend, relative or co-worker join - guess what? You get a BONUS! The training/workouts are one hour KICK YOUR BUTT long sessions! It entails a 15 minute cardio/stretch into a 30 minute bag punching/roundhouse kicking frenzy and a 15 minute cool down/stretch completing the class. Mats are cleaned daily! Barefeet or socked feet are acceptable on the mats - shoes/flip flops are prohibited on the mats. I have spent many classes in socked feet! Just saying! They host drawings, DJ fun nights and monthly activities for each location. So, it is more than JUST A GYM - It's a FUN WAY to exercise, relief stress and get healthy! Does your other gym offer these? Probably not! ILoveKickboxing has 3 current Tidewater locations that are FREE for any MEMBER to PARTICIPATE at. Plus your membership is ACCEPTED NATIONWIDE! If there is a franchise at a location I am vacationing at or on business trip at - I am free to take a class, or as many as I want! I would recommend probably calling ahead for a class schedule and to introduce yourself prior to attending. The locker rooms may be small but are filled with adequate lockers to store your belongings during class. What more do you really need? A place to throw your keys, bag and shoes. The mats are cleaned daily! They are not going to wet mats down between classes.... there is only a 15 minute window between most of them. Come experience the classes! I have been out of circuit for quit some time ( in respect to working out ). Due to a car accident. Needless to say I have gain more weight than I care to disclose. Not to mention my energy level is shot. I have never taken a kickboxing class nor entertained the thought of taking a class. I recently received a Groupon via my email from Ilovekickboxing.com and decided to view the Chesapeake site. After viewing the site and also view a few videos. Then I called and spoke to both Candace and Britney. Both ladies give me an abundance of wonderful reasons for at least stopping by to tryout the facility. Within the next few days I visited the and was greeted with a warm welcome by Hannah, Mercedes, and Dee. To say that I had a wonderful time would be a total understatement for sure. Mercedes, continuously checked on me and told me that it was ok to modify any exercises to insure that I did not cause any more injures. Since she understood my situation. I certainly appreciated how both Hannah and Mercedes were both so very meticulous and focused on each students specifics needs. What a great team!! I hate working out at the gym by myself. There's no motivation to go, and the machines become boring. This is why I love iLoveKickboxing.com. No sticky machines. No waiting to use the machines you want. All you need is you, and a pair of gloves (which they give you when you sign up for a trial!). It's a hard workout, but the instructors are friendly, and motivate you every step of the way. If you need help, just ask! They are always walking around and checking on you to make sure your form is good, and to see if you have questions. The classes are structured, so there's no guess work on your part. You can also go multiple days in a row and never repeate the same workout. Look, they make working out fun, and that's worth it right there. Give this place a shot!

I'm really glad I joined ILK Chesapeake, the classes absolutely kicked my butt, leaving me sore from head to toe .. and yet in some twisted way, I was immediately addicted. I've always wanted to have a 6 packs and now I can tell you that it really works, I've lost 7 lbs in less than 2 months and I can see my muscles showing without flexing. I love the great music pumping while you're getting your sweat on and all the teachers are really engaging. I'm really motivated to keep pushing it and accomplish my goal. I would highly suggest everyone go and at least try it out.

I originally found this place on groupon and thought it was a good deal. After the first class, I WAS HOOKED! I use to believe I was in pretty good shape but I got such a kick butt work out and felt so great, mentally and physically, after the first class. This place is amazing. The instructors are FANTASTIC! They have so much energy and they push you to do your best. I now make it a priority to come here, no matter what my schedule looks like for the week.

ILKB is amazing! I just recently started coming back here after being away at school and I am absolutely loving it. The instructors are so motivating and encouraging throughout the entire workout. They take the time to teach proper technique and provide modifications if you need them. In addition to ensuring that I get a great workout in each class, the instructors take the time to get to know me. I joined ILKB almost a year ago. I used to hit the gym a few nights a week but became bored of the same routine. So stepping out of my comfort zone like most women, I signed up with Groupon for a special trial. Well, I LOVED it. It was different. It was fun. I worked up a sweat. I've been going to I Love Kickboxing in Chesapeake for over a year. The workout never gets old and never gets easier! The instructors are amazing! So motivating, energizing and positive! This is the only workout that I found that works for me! they have flexible schedules throughout the week! You have way too much fun, it doesn't even feel like you're working out! I absolutely love everything about ilovekickboxing.com. It is a workout that keeps me coming back for more, and as a person who has tried many workouts, that means a lot! I am becoming stronger each time I go I feel myself progressing, and I always leave with a smile on my face. One hour goes by super quick because we do a series of shorter things, and it is super fat burning because we are doing high intensity interval training, with breaks! I am also working towards being able to do the splits here as we stretch our legs every day! I am so excited to see what 2 or 3 months results will bring me, as happy and excited as I am with one month!!!

Let me tell you that I didn't crush it, it crushed me and I became a VIP member that night. The classes are physical, but the staff there help you modify workouts to your level. Speaking of the staff, they are very professional and they keep you motivated. iLoveKickboxing is absolutley amazing! A new site just opened up in Newport News. The trainers are fantastic, they pay attention to detail and no one gets left out in class. Theres a good combination of cardio and strength training involved in all of the classes. The trainers are super motivational and encourage everyone to go at their own pace, while also pushing themselves to do the best you can. I joined because I was intrested in learned to kickbox, plus get in better shape and I have certainly seen a difference!

My first class was Monday at the Newport News location. When I showed up, I was excited but nervous. The instructors are highly upbeat, make you feel like family as soon as you walk in the door. When the class started, the nervousness went away. I realized I'm not being judged, if I make a fool of myself who cares. I was there to have fun and get in shape just like everyone else there. Channel all of your worry, fear, nervousness, whatever you may have that is holding you back from having fun and take it out on the bag. Punch and kick those fears away! You will be glad you did!

I am 25 working a full time job that finds me on my feet most of the day. By the time I get off, I'm usually drained and in the past few years, have found myself putting a few extra pounds on. My worries were left at the door as the staff / instructors were nothing but welcoming and wanting to find out what brought me in and how they could help me achieve my goals. I get such a great workout in. Every time I go we never do the same routine, so my body never gets use to it. By the time you've hit 15 minutes your shirt is soaked! I've never had a workout do that to me and feel like I'm getting results. The instructors are great in that they take the time to answer questions, provide modifications to either make the workouts less impacting due to injuries or pushing you past your comfort zone. The atmosphere amongst the members is supportive in pushing you to be the best you!

I first heard about ilovekickboxing from my parents! They would come home and rave about how much fun the classes were, so much, that I had to see what all of the hype was about! When I had my first class, it was a very simple experience. Everyone in the class does their own thing all while following the instructors and it's a blast! When I signed up for the trial classes, I was so worried coming to the gym. I was worried about how the other members and trainers will look at me with judgement (from previous experience). But when I got there for my first class, I experienced a friendly environment, caring instructors and easy-going members. Plus, the one hour workout itself will give you enough motivation to look forward to coming to another session (which I did). Everyday I look forward to coming to workout and reaching my fitness goals because of how the instructors are easily approachable and they do give you attention (when you need it or when asked). I am a 51 year old person who has never been “athletic” and working out was more of a chore than anything. I saw some friends raving about the kickboxing workout, so I signed up for the three lesson trial to check it out. I signed up after the first night and have left that and every workout since with a smile on my face. You work incredibly hard, set your own challenges, and the staff is very friendly and help you make modifications you need to challenge yourself, but work at your own pace. I had my first class on Wednesday at the Virginia Beach location. I had so much fun. I'm out of shape and yes, I struggled. I was hurting. I wanted to give up. But several instructors were on the floor encouraging you and pushing you on. They will walk around and help you and show you how to properly do the moves. the first 15 mins of cardio is the hardest part. If you can get past that, you can get past the whole class and more!!! I started at ILKB Virginia Beach 4 weeks ago and it's been more than I can imagine. First off, the team is absolutely amazing. They are motivating, kind, and encouraging! Secondly, kickboxing itself is beyond exhilarating. The best part is that you can take it at your own pace. You can go hardcore on the bag with jabs, cross, kicks, round houses, or take your time with each posture and the instructor will take their time to make sure you are getting exactly what you want out of every exercise. Lastly, the sweat. Oh the sweat. I've never sweat so much and let's just say that's proof enough that it's a good work out. I can already see the transformation in my body. 3 kids and 40 years later…I had decided to take care of myself so I can be a better Mother and Wife for for my family. Don’t get me wrong, it took me a few months before I finally went in to check out ILKB! I had seen it on FB and kept reposting it telling my FB friends “let go do this” or “who wants to do this with me”, basically waiting on someone to go ahead and roger up! iLoveKickboxing Chesapeake is an awesome fitness program. It all starts with the staff. The instructors are all extremely friendly and very encouraging. They are all capable of knowing when to let up and when to push someone further. They do that on an individual basis too so even when the class sizes are large, they give everyone personal attention and tailor to their needs. They have created a very comfortable environment where that is enjoyable and makes you look forward to going back. It's not a competition; it's more like a team and everyone is there to improve themselves and encourage others that are on their own journey. I love it. Everyone in the classes seems friendly and encouraging too. The intense cardio training at the beginning of class is a great work out on its own. I've seen improvement in myself in a short period of time. I find that I have better energy in general and can get through the routines better with time. They mix the routines up so it's always a new challenge and at the end of class they encourage people getting to know each other by pairing up for some drills. No two classes are the same but they all are effective. They also give daily health and fitness tips and come up with interesting challenges to keep help people track their success and push themselves further. It's awesome. There are plenty of schedule options for the classes so whether you need to go before work or after, you can likely find time to get in. (Even classes on Saturday and Sunday). It is good for any fitness level. Whether just starting out or already highly active, this challenges you to push to your own limits. They have a beautiful new studio, with an awesome staff, they have plenty of class times to choose from, and you actually have fun in class (when you aren't gasping for air from having your bootey handed to you). They have a constant influx of new members on a regular basis. Classes can be very full, but that adds to the high energy level and motivation in the room. Only a couple minor negatives I see. Seems there could be a slightly better way of tracking the newbies, to make sure they are working on their correct form (hence avoiding possible injuries). And a shower area would be great.

I could never stay committed to a gym OR a diet for that matter.. I would do it for a week, maybe two weeks and then be done with it and bored. BUT here at ilovekickboxing at the Chesapeake location, I have been committed since the first week in June! That is a total of four months so far! I am absolutely addicted!! The people here show that they care about you. The trainers are real personable and awesome! It is such a family environment! Not only are you getting a killer work out but you are learning proper form and they make sure of it so that you do not hurt yourself. This place is AMAZING! I went in because a friend had told me about the special they were running. I bought the 3 classes for $20 and got the free gloves. Then I went in Sunday morning and met with one of the instructors so she could make sure I didn't have any injuries or something that she should be aware of. She taught me how to wrap my wrists and gave me the grand tour. The layout is pretty basic. The main area is right past the front desk and that made me skeptical because I wouldn't want anyone watching me while I'm sweating and struggling. But we were so busy and focused that I didn't think about that once during the workout. After we all got our spots on the mat, we instantly started the hard part. The 1st 15-20 minutes is really intense! I started sweating and didn't stop until a few hours after the class had ended. The workouts were basic, but fast and non-stop. We ran around the mat a bit to up the heart rate, but it felt good running on the mat in my bare feet. The boxing moves were also basic and really fun! It felt so good to punch out all of that stress from the long week! All in all, I highly recommend this place for a fun, intense workout! I fully expect to start seeing results very soon! I am so sore today that I had to hook my bra before putting it on! There was no way I could have reached behind me this morning. Also, I hate going down stairs today! But, surprisingly enough, NO JOINT PAIN! All of the pain is the good, used my muscles, kind of pain. Have fun! Shanna

Never judge a book by its cover!!!! I totally didn't expect the workout that this class provides, the first 15 minutes I was dripping sweat but it didn't matter because I wasn't the only one!!! This place rocks I just wish they were here when I was on shore duty. Now that I am on sea duty I find it really hard to get to the classes after work but I will find the way. I love that they now offer Sunday classes. The studio is clean and the facilities are maintained to a high standard. The staff are helpful and very sweet. I couldn't be any happier being a member of Chesapeake's ILKB! The owners and instructors are so positive, encouraging and knowledgeable. The workouts are intense but awesome! You will certainly sweat like crazy but even if you walk away with your muscles aching, you will want to come back for more. Another unexpected benefit to joining ILKB is the connections and friendships you will form with other members. As a full-time working mother of three, I rarely do things outside of work and family life. ILKB has made me find time to fit the workouts into my schedule (I go 4-5 times a week) because I love the workouts, instructors and being with the other members I've become friends with!

I’ve tried other workout programs in the pass but of course after a few attempts they were always short lived. I have access to the base gyms, but it was too easy not to go or if I went I wouldn’t go hard enough. A friend and I decided that we would try the ilovekickboxing gym just for the trial. We saw an ad on Facebook and it was an outstanding offer plus you received a free pair of cute pink boxing gloves….lol. So we tried it one Saturday, yes it kicked our butts but that’s exactly what we needed, did I say it KICKED our butts? We became VIP members that same day because we knew that this was something that would hold our interest and get the results we were seeking. The trainers are the best, the music is so hyped, now we get excited about going to workout. The trainers tell you that you don’t sweat, you’ll SPARKLE. I have several more friends that will be joining me today, plus I have my 18 year old daughter working out again. So are you ready to SPARKLE?????

I am so amazingly glad I signed up for this class!! When I started I had no idea what to expect. Upon receiving my set of boxing gloves and some instruction I was ready to go to work. What a workout it was!! It completely confuses your body and makes you use muscles you had no idea existed. The people are so incredibly nice! The scene contains nothing but positive people. From the time you walk in the door you can feel all of the positive energy...and it spills over to the class. The other classmates are friendly and even if they are having a bad day you wouldn't even know it because the positive attitude exudes throughout the building. I was so nervous going to my first class at Ilovekickboxing. The staff member I spoke with on the phone was cheery, personable and so sweet. Once I got to the place, I was greeted with kindness and immediately felt as ease. I LOVED my first workout and sweated my butt off. I absolutely LOVE working out at ilovekickboxing.com! The workouts are challenging and fun! They are a full body workout! You start with a 15 minute high intensity warm up, then you stretch, and then you put your gloves on and start punching and kicking the bag with different combinations! The workouts are always different which keeps them exciting and keeps you wanting to come back for more! The staff is great! I love all the instructors. They are motivating and push you to dig deeper! They also ensure that your form is correct so you don’t get injured! The establishment is clean!

ILKB is by far the most challenging, motivating and rewarding workout. Period. I bring all of myself to the mat and leave with even more. I'm so glad I found out about this kickboxing studio! From the very first day I signed up the staff have been very helpful and they really build a relationship with every single member. Every time I come in I am greeted with a smile and everybody welcomes you. I have a hard time sticking to my workout routines but for some reason I have been very consistent with kickboxing. I needed a workout that I wouldn't get bored with and that would get me results. I found everything I was looking for here at I Love Kickboxing Chesapeake. I signed up for their grand opening special, just to check it out, and I ended up loving it so much, I signed up for a membership. They have different memberships available - something for everyone. I like how everyone is so friendly - they go out of their way to make you comfortable and feel at ease. The instructors are awesome....fun but motivating. The music helps to pump you up. The workout is INTENSE. I'm not going to sugar coat it - it is hard. But it is so worth it. If you want the results, you have to work for them. I love being able to take out my stress and frustrations on the punching bag. You walk out of there feeling like you can take on the world. This by far the most bad ass workout around!

I've always had trouble finding gyms or exercises that I care about, but I love this place and actually look forward to going! Everyone I have met there, both employees and attendees, have been really nice and easy to get along with. We all get to take our frustrations out on the bag, so all that's left is to be nice! It's clean with a special mat, rarely any mess, the motivation and cheers are always positive. It's open to all genders, but yes the majority is women. Come check it out!

I've always struggled with my weight...I go to the gym, I'm active, and I diet like crazy! I've never had ANYTHING that can push past that plateau I always seem to reach when nothing works anymore. That is until I started at ILoveKickboxing! I tried out the grand opening special which was three classes, I'll admit...I was intimidated as all get-out..but after the first class I signed up for a year unlimited! The instructors there are AMAZING and the workout is INTENSE! It's so fast paced though, and moves so quick and fun that you don't even realize how hard you're working by the time the class is over! There are no crazy machines to figure out, there are no "meat" head types to annoy you, there are no scales or skinny women trying to measure you all the time. Ok as an athlete and a pretty active person I am always looking for great, new and different ways to get and stay in shape. The experience that I have had at ILKB is nothing short of amazing! Like most I purchased the web special for my trial, patiently waited for my call to set up my first class; along with over 2000 others; got my call set up my first class and in I came. The instructors and staff were extremely welcoming even though there were a TON of people there. We had an intro session talked about our goals in small groups and then had the first hour long workout . . . AMAZING!! The hour flew by, I was glowing with sweat and I felt phenomenal!! One of the best workouts I've ever experienced. I was hooked immedietely. Fast forward to 3 weeks later, I've lost inches and pounds off of all my hard to reach areas, I'm gaining muscle and I feel amazing! ALL of the instructors are great and I'm so happy I have this in my life!
