Roaring Brook Camp For Boys

An unplugged adventure since 1965, Roaring Brook Camp for Boys has specialized in providing instruction in outdoor sports and skills, Vermont crafts, backpacking and canoe trips. Located on a 650 acre forest preserve with 15 acre private lake, the camp provides a pristine setting for boys wanting a fun and exciting camp experience. Activities include: fishing, blacksmithing, marksmanship, rock climbing, archery, mountain biking, kayaking, survival training, whitewater rafting, fly tying, ropes course, slack lining, woodcraft, knife-making, leather craft, timber sports, fitness, orienteering, archery, canoing, swimming, first aid and rescue. The program is designed to develop self-reliance, resourcefulness, will to achieve, and service to others within a supportive and caring camp community. The camp is accredited by the American Camping Association.

For 50 years, Roaring Brook Camp has been devoted to teaching outdoor skills and adventure sports, Vermont crafts and conducting expeditions in Northern New England by backpack and canoe. We believe that confidence and satisfaction with life come through personal achievement. Our intent is to build self-reliance, resourcefulness, a will-to-achieve, and service to others primarily through a program of outdoor education.

Self Reliance - is learned through group living with peers and counselors away from home, learning new skills, and providing for ones self in the natural environment.

Resourcefulness - comes from creating useful articles from native materials, cooking meals over a personally built fire, being responsible for making your own shelter during a survival experience or traveling cross country with a map and compass.

The Will to Achieve - emanates from learning to push and drive in the climb to a mountain summit, to finish a rock climbing route, to complete a portage and to successfully navigate whitewater.

Service to Others - is built through shared responsibility in group living, making friends and contributing to the camp community.
