Broken furniture patched up and delivered as new
Our new $1200 table and chairs were delivered with multiple cracks and loose pins(in table leaf), and (all)stripped screws underneath the table. The cracks were not new, as in "created in delivery". These were glued back together at some point in manufacturing or warehousing. This table should have been sold at auction or discount outlet. Among the chairs, all had mishandling scratches and nicks. One seat had been mounted incorrectly, resulting in the seat leaning to one side(it's supposed to lean slightly backward- off 90 degrees when mounted). Two chairs were sent to us with a replacement table. One of these had to be rejected since the stain did not match the rest of the chairs... they delivered two, so the stain did not match each other as well. This technician did not attempt some of the repairs, indicating the chairs should be replaced. Now the service manager is rejecting this request for replacement or further repair, as he received a positive report from the technician. My only recourse is to take digital photos, and send them in with a request for reversal of his decision. If you like buying furniture, and needing channel 5 news to back you up on service requests... buy from Ashley furniture. The table is beatiful, but don't look at the screws underneath; they are also stripped like they were installed using a cordless screwdriver that slipped; probably a bad tip on the drill. I plan to set up pictures on the web. I'll return later with links for all to see. BUYER BEWARE.

Poor Quality
We purchased a desk, and after taking 2 1/2 months for it to come in, it was broken when we received it. The delivery crew didn't even put it together correctly. 30 minutes after they left , screws started falling out on the floor. 2 of the drawers would not even open or close. We called the store immediately and was told they would have to send out a technichian, but they dont' send anyone out for at least 2 weeks. So now I'm sitting here with a $1000 desk that can not even be used. They also informed me their furniture can not be returned AT ALL. This was our first purchase from Ashley, and it will be our last. Buyer beware!Worldwide > United States > Grapevine, TX > Furniture
