Glass Coffins looks to collect!
Annies was anything but a fine dining establishment. Sure the staff is friendly, sure they are a long time gay friendly establishment. But in this day and age you need to be more. How about putting the same effort in food as you do in...still fun
although fairly loud and only ok grub (though, on a 'good' night, the crabcakes and a medium steak seem near perfect), the lively service and lively patrons make it all worth the price of admission.2010 Spring Dining Guide
By Tom Sietsema Sunday, May 23, 2010 This long-running gay mecca in Dupont Circle took a turn for the chic when it upgraded its interior two years ago, trading in aged wood and tile elements for stained black tables, plantation shutters...Great staff; average food
I'm afraid I've been mostly ignoring the quality of the food for years. I still love the prime rib and the steak salad is always reliable but I generally agree--ownership really screwed up an attempt at upscaling and needs to get back to...Good food if you are drunk after going out on the town

It has been about 7 years since I have been to Annies, but I remember the crab imperial as being one of the best for a non - seafood restaurant. But my favorite was the prime rib and eggs for breakfast. The waiter(Mano) was and I hope...Go For Breakfast and the Service
Annie's downfall is not the fault of the excellent service staff: The restaurant tried to go upscale without accounting for their core patron's preferences and without a serious upgrade in kitchen skills. I miss the old reliable downscale...Get over yourselves: Annies is a gay landmark
I have been going to Annie's for more than 20 years and I still go because it feels like home. When the renovation was first done, the prices went way up, the menu shrunk - they made some bad decisions. But they have fixed many of them....Service with a smile!
Annie's is a mainstay for many in Dupont Circle because of its consistently good food and its excellent and friendly service. One of the best breakfasts in town -- with or without being tanked before you go in! I've lived in DC for a year...Worldwide > United States > Washington, DC > Steakhouses
