Best Value for your meal dollar!
This has got to be one of the best little resteraunts in SE Michigan. It's your favorite Greasy spoon place..with out the grease. The staff is very friendly. You can get breakfasts anytime you want. Their shesh-ka-bob is the best in the Detroit area. The prices are the best part of the dining experience. Extremely reasonable. Presently building a new larger place right next door to the present place. This has to be because they are always busy. Great food, great prices, great service. Alex himself is usually around somewhere over seeing that quality is maintained.

Great family owned restaurant. They call you by name. We usually go for breakfast. They are the best. They have great tasting food, good portion size, great prices, great service all the time. Everything is always fresh.

The food is average. The price is reasonable. BUT, the service I got from the waitress is goes below even poor standards. Brought me a wrong order and when I complained about it, she got so unprofessional and rude to me. When, I asked her why the attitude, she even got more mad and made a scene in the restaurant. Even when to the point of insulting me.

Used to be the best diner food around, now it's average
We used to eat carry-out all the time from Alex's. Their chicken kabob couldn't be beat. With their expansion a few years ago, boy did that change. I guess with a shiny new building, costs need to be cut somewhere and unfortunately, it was with the kabob. What used to be perfectly grilled chicken breast became dry chunks of dark meat. It was a staple in my diet but not anymore. Alex's still gets 3 stars because of their soups, which are always tasty. I just don't go anymore.Worldwide > United States > Berkley, MI > Restaurants
