Gruff and dismissive
I'm new to the city and went for a regular GYN check-up with Dr. Adler. He was curt and dismissive with my questions and not at all gentle during the exam. His staff at the reception were not polite either and seemed very overwhelmed with work. It was one of the least pleasant doctor's visits I've ever had and I would not go back there again. Not a good experience
I saw Dr. Adler and Dr. Kurtz for my first pregnancy and the beginning of my second. My experience is that the office is overwhelmed with patients, which results in ridiculously long waits (I never waited less than an hour), one very unpleasant woman working at the front desk, and rushed time with the doctor. When I began to miscarry I called and they asked me to come in, then asked why I had come in when I actually saw the doctor. This happened on the next two visits. After my miscarriage (I was out of town), I called to schedule a follow up. That appointment began with "How many weeks are you?" "I had a miscarriage," and a verbal discussion of whether it was complete. After I did some research I wondered if I needed tests or an examination to confirm the miscarriage was complete and called them. They said to come in. Again, "How many weeks pregnant are you?" Then "why are you here?" No tests. I have since switched to Weill-Cornell where I am very happy with the care. Two months ago I asked for my file to be transferred via fax (their protocol). Three phone calls and one personal visit later it has not happened. Par for the course with this office. Consider other options.Worldwide > United States > New York, NY > Doctors
