Do not EVER go to this doctor! Everything they say about cruel practices and strapping down of the children is TRUE! I couldn’t believe it at first myself, and then I brought in my son for a checkup. Mr. Eftekhari does have all the state of the art technology – fancy dental software and teeth cameras – but that’s about it – there is no honesty or integrity behind it. To make the long story short. Pros: He did allow my child to sit on my lap during the checkup and was very polite Cons: He lied to me about what is covered by my dental insurance – he said that the cleaning wasn’t covered but that he would do it for free just for me. As I found out before, cleaning IS COVERED by me insurance! Cons: He offered to give my 3 y/o son teeth sealants. As I found out later from another dentist – sealants are toxic, as they contain EDTA and not advisable for kids. They are only used if their benefit outweighs the risk of being exposed to the toxin. He didn’t say anything at all about the risk associated with having those sealants in the first place – I don’t think that was very honest or professional. Even the flyer that he has in his waiting room about the sealants doesn’t mention a word about what they are made of and what is the risk of having them. Plus having sealants doesn’t guarantee cavity free teeth! So the whole thing is a sham! Cons: my son needed a filling and this doctor didn’t spot it – with all of his fancy equipment! Cons: HE DOES STRAP CHILDREN TO THE CHAIR AND KIKS THE PARENT OUT OF THE ROOM! That’s appalling! When I asked him about this inhumane practice he told me that all the doctors in USA do it that way! What a liar! I called 5 other doctors after I came home and all of them told me the same thing – they try everything they can to make the child cooperate and only as the last measure they give them gas or hold them down. But NOBODY kicks the parent out of the room! Seriously – this guy is a CHILD SADIST. Cons: it seems to me that this guy is only after money – I came to him with Medical dental coverage – that already implies that I don’t have extra couple of hundred to spend. Not only he didn’t do his primary responsibility – treat the actual problems - like the filling that he missed or the cleaning that he said wasn’t covered – when in fact it was. But he also tried to sell me things that I DON’T NEED like those sealants for 536.00$! Final: Stay away from this doctor. There are hundreds of excellent doctors out their – who actually care for your children and worry about their experience at the dental office. Do not scar your children for life and NEVER go to this doctor.
