1/2 off wine night on Wednesdays AND Sundays can't be beat!
I have been going to 300 East for years. It is a great restaurant with an affordable menu, large portions, and great food. Their appetizers are to die for - baked marinated goat cheese, sweet potato ravioli, hummus plate...you have to try their drink of the house - The Matilda Wong! The servers are all very nice, but my favorite thing about this place is the newest addition of the tall, strapping, hunky, bearded waiter, Otis. This guy is a great waiter and is so handsome! My girlfriends and I like to go just to check him out and be served by him. YUM.sabotage
My girlfriend and I celebrated our 6 month anniversary here. It was truly a special night. We were seated upstairs and waited on by a professional and friendly staff. Our food was pretty good but my girlfriend's salad was small for the price. I had the Shrimp BLT Panini. It was delecious but quite spicy. It made my lips burn! But that wasn't a problem for me. The problem was four hours later when I was hunched on the can, pale and shivering. One may ask, "Well how do you know it was the BLT?" Let me just say this... It burned me twice.Best meal in a long time!
300 East was a true delight! We ordered the chicken with goat cheese and the hanger steak. It was the best meal we have had in a long time. Service was impeccable!Fresh Food, Unique Menu, So-So Service
My girlfriend and I were looking for a low key outdoor dining experience for lunch this weekend while running some errands in Dilworth and decided on 300 East.outdoor seating
My husband and I are from out of town and have previously eaten at 300 East with friends - so we thought we'd enjoy the cool 4th of July weather Charlotte was having and eat outdoors. When we asked if we could sit at the remaining unoccupied table, the hostess told us "we like to save the four-tops for three or more customers.†Stunned (and hungry), we said okay. She sat us by a front window and near the front door and I counted three other "couples†request the same outdoor table and they all received the same reply. The restaurant was very slow (maybe ten people inside) and the table remained empty during our lunch visit. From our previous visit, we remembered the food being very tasty. Unfortunately this was not the case this time. I ordered the Ahi salad and received two small pieces of tuna along with a very rubbery rice cake. The waitress never returned to our table so after waving her down, she did go back to the kitchen and tried a different method of warming the rice cake. She then told me the rice cooker was broken and that is why the cake was rubbery (?). Our meals were definitely not worth the hefty price tag and were very disappointing. We should have left once we were told we couldn't sit at the empty table outside! Lesson learned.Won't Go Back!!
My husband, myself and my little girl decided to eat lunch here one afternoon on a beautiful day! Although, after our rude experience we wished we would have gone somewhere else. We sat outside at a VERY small two top table that was part shade/part sun. After a few minutes we realized it was too much sun for our little girl so we asked to move to one of the EMPTY 4-top tables that was in the shade but we were told they were for "larger" parties. First of all, we had 3 people second there was NO wait and third, our child was burning up in the sun.Our All Time Favorite
My husband and I recently celebrated our anniversary with dinner at 300 East. We continue to be amazed at the quality of this restaurant (the food and the service) over the many years we have been visiting. This place is locally owned, no franchise, no clone. Their long time specials are still special and yet there's always a good surprise if you're looking for something different. If you haven't eaten there, you should, it's just one of the nicest places in Charlotte.Excellent Food...
300 East has been a favorite of mine since moving to Charlotte in 2005. The food rarely disappoints. The Sunday brunch specials will knock your socks off, and if you need a good soup to warm your soul, look no further. That said, the service ranges from excellent to awful. More often than not, it is quite good. Bear in mind that it is a fairly casual environment, so you aren't going to get fine dining service, no matter how hefty your bill might be. Being a regular, I wish that the servers would notice that I tip fairly, even for poor service. I tend to assume that I caught a server having a bad day, and let it slide. These things happen. If you can forgive all this, the food is definitely worth it. The menu has some good, responsibly produced meats and vegetables, for those of you who care about that stuff. The sweet potato ravioli is always a treat. I get the Ahi Tuna Salad, and find it to be consistently enjoyable. The Niman Ranch Pork is absolutely fantastic. I don't eat dessert much, but i am willing to bet 300 East has some stellar creations. The weird outside table rule does baffle me, but we beat it by calling some more friends to join us.Uncooked
Had dinner at 300 East last week. Sat outside on a beautiful day and enjoyed the nice setting 300 has for its guests. Yet.....ordered the pork medallion entrée which arrived almost raw in the middle. Sent it back and all they did was to nuke it and put it back on the table.Worldwide > United States > Charlotte, NC > American Restaurants
