Thee Fish Bowl Pet Store

I recently visited this pet store to pick up some food for my dog, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. They even let some of the cats up for adoption run around the store!

Thee Fish Bowl is a great pet store for the total animal lover. It is a small and quiant store that houses all sorts of animals from dogs and cats to frogs and chinchillas. They are very relaxed and have a laid back atmosphere. This is a great place to come for all your animal needs.

Good Store and Service

A great local pet store, Thee Fish Bowl has great prices, is clean, and has great service. The puppy kennels are indeed a bit small, but they have large ones for larger dogs, smaller ones for the smaller dogs. However, admittedly, I have never bought any animals besides fish there. The dogs are let out 1-2 times a day around the store. The rabbit and guinea pig cages are pretty overcrowded, though. Fish tanks are A-OK, and the chinchillas and rats couldn't be happier. Overall, a great pet store for your everyday needs. One last note, the manager does have a reputation for being a few pages short of a full novel, if you know what I mean.

BEWARE!!!!!!

I would never allow a friend or a stranger to support this store.
My dog had to have surgeries, (due to inbreeding) and the owner tried to just put me off, finally after legal documentation and months of headache she paid for the vet bill!
They say the get there puppies from 'private loving breeders"-where they come from are actually puppy mills. I do not support this store at all.
Do not believe the lies! Consider yourself warned! This pet store does not live up to the Evanston standard at all!

"How can a business get such high ratings so consistently?

How can a business get such high ratings so consistently? Because they are awesome, that's how! They love my pets as much as I love them!

I've been going here for years wandering in only for treats and an occasional bath now and then and yet they always remember my dogs' name! Well, maybe it's because Bullit (spelled that way from the Steve McQueen movie) screams like a little girl in the bathtub. Or maybe it's because he's so handsome. Anyway...

The staff is extremely knowledgeable about their foods, treats, harnesses and everything! My other dog Ellis (my first name begins with "L" my husband begins with an "S".....hence "Ellis") has a weird shaped body and they patiently went through all the harnesses until we found one he couldn't shape shift out of. My old boy had health issues and they showed me the food he would love and boy did he! Even when my kitty Ditto had kidney stuff starting up they were able to guide me to the proper foods.

I would say "Thee Fish Bowl" is THE BEST but I haven't been to every single pet store in the world. The people who work there are all so helpful ("it's all about the service") but more importantly they are all so well informed. The store not only offers high quality foods you can trust but also really unique toys, leashes, clothing etc. You won't find cool stuff like this in the bigger box stores.

I think the experience that stands out to me most is the day I came in wanting to switch to a better food for my dog. I had discovered how bad a certain brand I was using was since I had already done a lot of research on some higher protein foods that I felt would be better for my high energy dog. I had narrowed it down to 2 or 3 different foods and I came into 'Thee Fish Bowl" to ask for help in making a final decision.

They told me what they liked about each, asked me some questions about my dogs, my budget and gave me insight into feedback from other customers. They never said "this is my favorite" or "this is the best" they were actively trying to help me figure out which was best for my dog and my situation. They knew in detail where each food is made, how they choose their ingredients and basically everything you could possibly want to know! I was able to make a more informed decision because of the knowledgeable staff at "Thee Fish Bowl"

I still can't walk out of this place without falling in love.....wanting to take home every dog in there but this is directly related to my lack of self control of "man's best friend". After buying two big bags of dog food I always add treats, bully sticks, toys, etc.

I'm just giving a friendly warning......... bring your self control with you when you visit. You'll need it.

"I left feeling good"

This is the first pet supply store that I bought things from and left feeling GOOD! The prices are superb, and the people are fantastic.
We brought our little pit bull man in today because we are trying to get him used to going into stores...and he loved this place.
The have pure latex toys for crazy strong chewers. We got him sold on a latex ball for under $6. Anywhere else and we would have been looking at a double digit price tag. We also got him an AMAZING collar. Bosco is still growing, but hes still on the small side and we have had the worst time trying to find him a wide collar that fits his still small neck.
Well we found it here, for $4 and change. I will be back on Monday to get another one for sure.
Such great people work there who didn't even mind when he piddled on the carpet (Sorry, I'm a puppy!)

Great Pet Store!

Great pet store! The owner is so friendly and always greets your dog with some free treats. It makes it hard to walk by without going in. It's a tiny store, but well-stocked with dog and cat options. Every time I leave here I feel great knowing I bought something at a mom and pop shop instead of at one of those chain stores. The owner is so nice you can't help but feel fantastic.
Keep up the great work Thee Fish Bowl!!!
