SUB PAR Facial - Inadequate Service!
The technician was sub par and so was the extraction; she felt 50 percent of my blackheads.Great Service, Great Facial
I am not sure if it was the move, but our experience at Breathe Spa which is now located in Davis Square Somerville was Excellent. The Spa is cozy you are surrounded in a pink atmosphere and the service was "top notch". I recieved the Chocolate Truffle Facial it was relaxing, cleansing, and luxurious, not to mention their prices are very competitive. I loved my treatmet and will definitly go back.Poor Facial at Breath Spa
I agree with the critics above. The extraction was 2 out of 10. The products were too fragrant--fragrance not good for skin. After and during the extraction, she would rub "whatever" over the rest of my skin. I am going to call tomorrow and see if there is someone else who can re-do the extraction. Will be a repeat customer
Last week I received the Breathe Royalty Facial. The esthetician was sweet and helpful. I wasn't sure which facial i wanted so she examined my skin and we talked about what kind of results I was looking for. We ended up choosing the Royalty facial. She informed me that the product line they used was all organic and good for all skin types. The fragrance was light and not overpowering. She started with a light back massage that transitioned smoothly into the facial. The extractions were a 5 out of 5. The facial massage and hand massage were relaxing. After 2 sweet smelling and soothing masks she ended on the perfect note with a peppermint scalp massage. Overall the facial was great. The esthetician was warm and friendly and really knew what she was doing. The atmosphere was very welcoming. And the room temperature was just right. I will definatley be returning for another facial and will also be recommending them to my friends.Disappointing
I went for a 60 min massage during spa week - so it was at a discounted rate. But I had never been to Breathe Spa and this was the perfect opportunity for me to check it out. I arrived at 7p and the door was locked. My appt was at 7 and they were open until 8. I rang the doorbell several times - no answer. I called a few times - no answer. Finally someone came up from downstairs and when I asked if they were open she said yes they just did not want to leave me alone because the 2 employees on that night were downstairs working. Ever heard of a receptionist?? And an apology?? It was very strange. So my facial started 5 minutes late. The massage did feel great & I would give the extraction a 3 out of 5. But then it was time for the pumpkin mask - one of 2 masks offered during their facials. The mask was put on - I was convinced it was just pumpkin lotion because it never felt tight - and the woman left the room for over 10 minutes. Like other reviewers have mentioned - this is typically when a shoulder massage or hand massage would be given. After the pumpkin mask there was a chocolate mask - which felt tight on my skin - this one was definitely a mask. But it was taken off within a few minutes. And I was done - ten minutes early!!!! So if it is not a 60-minute facial - why not just sell it as a 45-minute? I was pretty disappointed - I felt cheated. Spas should take advantage of "spa week" and understand that "spa week" is an opportunity for potential recoccurring clients to sample their products and services - seems like an obvious concept? Needless to say I will not be going back to Breathe Spa. Their loss! I am an excellent repeat client.Great Facial
I went to Breathe Spa during spa week and received the pumpkin facial. I do not know what other people are talking about. During the facial I was only left alone for about 5 mins while the esthetician left to get fresh water. The face massage, scalp massage, and hand massage were just great. I also liked the product line that they used because it is all organic and also smelled good. I will be recommending them to people that I know. I will also be returning for more services in the future.Best In Your Home Comfort
As a west coaster, I am used to spas with a more relaxed atmosphere. I love the girls at Breathe because they are friendly, sociable and clearly love what they do. Whenever I have a free afternoon or morning I find a reason to go and get a pedi, facial or whatever awesome monthly special they are offering. Their products are great, especially the emimence skin care line. I enjoy the quiet space, even admist the busy and convenient location of Davis Square. Even though they are closed on Mon and Tues, my days off, I don't mind waiting til they are open midweek- because its worth the wait! Highly recommended.Chocoloate Facial
I went in last week for a facial and told the esthetician that I was having a lot of dryness with my skin because of the dry weather, and she recommended the chocolate facial which was on special for $50, because chocolate is super hydrating. The extraction was a 5 out of 5. And the massage was great. During the first mask my hands were massaged and then the girl went and got some fresh water and tea for me. After the first mask the chocolate mask was applied and it smelled so yummy. During this mask my scalp was massaged with peppermint oil. Needless to say I loved the facial and loved the price. They are always doing specials so I will be returning for another treatment soon.Worldwide > United States > Somerville, MA > Beauty Salons and Services
