modern furniture

Minima is a really interesting and different furniture store. They carry very expensive furniture, but it all has a very different flair. The lines are sleek and the pieces are very straightforward. This is not the typical stock you will find at other furniture stores. Many pieces are from Italy, and are something you usually only see in magazines. It is a really cool store to visit and get ideas, even if you cant afford anything. It is worth a look, but obviously this kind of style isnt for everyone.

Minima deliberately lied to me.

I purchased 2 Risom Lounge chairs and was given an estimated delivery date of 8 to 10 weeks.

On week 9, I called and was told that they would be “ready to ship from Knoll in Allentown” in 2 weeks. I called 2 weeks later and was told that they would arrive in two weeks. When I pointed out that they’d already said that, they said ‘ready to ship’ didn’t mean that they would ship. This is a little like Clinton saying that “it depends on what the meaning of ‘is’ is.” This was Trick #1.

2 weeks later they said the chairs we shipping the following week. I asked for my money back and they refused. I then asked the proprietor directly to give me her word that she would refund my money if the chairs were not delivered by the currently promised date. She agreed.

I drove over to the showroom and asked the proprietor to confirm our agreement in writing. I handed her my receipt to write on. She changed the subject by offering me free delivery. I thanked he

Great Experience

We were referred to Minima by friends who furnished their house with them. We were greeted by a very friendly staff and introduced to the owner. We needed a lot of help not just furnishing our house but design services as well. The owner graciously and patiently with her design partner work with us not just designing but consulting us with the construction of our house.

They recommended many local carpenters for custom kitchen and bathrooms which were very high quality. Minima spent with us three months just consulting and picking our beautiful furniture which we cherish with our family. From the beginning to the end very professional with a great design sense. when our friends come over they can't stop complementing about our furniture. Recently we purchased a book at Minima Restoring a house in the City which features the only Philadelphia historical house renovated and furnished by them. It has a 12 page spread with beautiful images of the house.

Name implies it best

This store certainly is minimal, there isn't that much to see. They say they have some of the best selections in modern furniture but its hard to see how its going to work in my home with such little to touch and feel. Prices seem to be through the roof when compared to some of the high end pieces i have done for my loft in NYC but they do carry some impressive names like Minotti. I didn't really find the staff that helpful either, which was disappointing but i guess the name implies minimal, which is what you'll get lol.

Minimal deliberatly lied to me.

I purchased 2 Risom Lounge chairs and was given an estimated delivery date of 8 to 10 weeks.
On week 9, I called and was told that they would be ?ready to ship from Knoll in Allentown? in 2 weeks. I called 2 weeks later and was told that they would arrive in two weeks. When I pointed out that they?d already said that, they said ?ready to ship? didn?t mean that they would ship. This was Trick #1.

I thanked her for the gesture. She noted ?free delivery? on my receipt and began to hand it back to me. I continued ?and you will refund my money if the chairs are again not delivered when promised.? There could be no misunderstanding; she began writing as I spoke and I asked her to sign it.

Imagine my surprise when I got home and read that she?d only written that she?d ?given her word? that the delivery would be made, with no mention of guaranteeing a refund. This was Trick #2.

I called her to say that I felt I?d be tricked. She denied this. So I was extremely careful in asking her if she now denied that she had given me her word to refund my money if the current delivery date was not meet. Astonishingly, she denied it. Twice.

Bluntly but practically put, the proprietor of Minima Furniture deliberately and repeatedly lied to me.
