Rude staff and wasted time

This hospital is in serious need of improvement. Much of the staff is very rude and not helpful at all. I had to take my boyfriend to the emergency room when he was severely sick, and after asking for his birthday at least ten times, still got it wrong on his admittance wristband. They billed him twice as well, and told me to wash out the vomit bucket in the slop sink. And rather than helping us carry him up the entrance stairs when he couldn't even walk, they just stood there watching and smoking their cigarettes. If you have another option of emergency care, use it and avoid going to this hospital.

do-it-yourself-hospital

had abdominal surgery 12/17 which would have required staying in two nights.
The first night I woke up in a room shared by a noisy old lady (not her fault), who was checked on several times, but when I requested help I was ignored for HOURS, then literally mocked for being in pain: "what's wrong with you?!", refused help getting my bag on the other end of the room to get the TV-by-credit card ordered - another very do-it-yourself ordeal, and not easy when you're on morphone coming off anesthesia, and can't reach the nightstand which has been pushed out of reach (as was the light switch)...but no help.
I was left for more than two hours after notifying via the 'intercom' button that my IV had run out...
Middle of the night, someone came in to give me an injection and when I asked what it was (and why it couldn't be done as part of the IV), she refused to tell me what it was and literally walked out.
They were the scariest, least compassionate nurses I could have imagined and NEVER would have had my surgery done there had I known.
Luckily my neighbor works in the hospital on another floor (and said she'd heard this about the night staff before), and sent me almost a body guard to check on me from time to time the next day, but I checked out a day early by lying about my progress because I was scared I wouldn't make it another night.
If you have a choice, go somewhere else!
