Great...but you'll never get in
Knowledge Beginnings is a day care/pre-school center on the grounds of the Stanford West complex, right next to the Stanford Medical Center. The space is fairly new, spacious, bright, well divided and overall very inviting. The teachers seem knowledgeable and caring. The prices are high, but standard for this caliper of accredited facility. The catch: if you're not affiliated with Stanford, you'll most likely not get in there for many, many years. So if you are thinking about getting pregnant and want this place for child care, get your name on their wait list now.

Knowledge Beginnings @ Stanford- The stars must have been aligned...
I live in Menlo Park and am not affiliated with Stanford. In October of 2006 I was able to enroll my daughter into their infant program. I was going back to work in November and had not decided on child care. Just by chance, I called Knowledge Beginnings fully expecting that there would be no openings and to my surprise they had an opening. Of the 30+ families on the waiting list, no one wanted it. I immediately went to the facility, dropped off a check and my daughter started the program a few weeks later. It was that easy. What I've learned is that while their may be many names on the waiting list the openings do not always coinside with each family's preferred start date. I would recommend this facility and program to anyone. My daughter has now been there for over and year and she's thriving. Take a chance and put your name on the list.
