Excellent First Time Buyer Experience

My husband and I were first time car buyers with no trade-in and in search for a highly reliable car at a good price. I have been a Toyota driver all of my life (Celica, Camry, and T-100) and test drove a variety of SUV's and sedans (Nissan, Toyota, and Honda). The Acura 3.2TL like the other vehicles was a "good bet" according to Consumer Reports; however, it was the features of the Acura and the dealership experience that influenced our purchase. We visited many dealerships in the Columbus area to name a few, such as all the Toyotas, a few Germains, one Jeep Chrysler, on Kia, Honda East, Hugh White Honda, Immke Honda, a small dealership, and Lindsey Acura. Only Acura of Columbus provided the best overall experience. Mr. Greg Brown, our salesman, provided us with an absolutely positive experience even after completing our purchase. We were treated with respect from the very beginning and would recommend this dealership to everyone. Of all the sales people we met with, he was the most courteous and professional. Most importantly, the price negotiation process did not involve intimidation or "patient room" like waiting conditions.

Bad customer service

Took my car in for service and they couldn't get it right. On top of that they are rude and make you feel fortunate to be there. Go to Lindsey instead!

Love the car, hate the dealer.

If you live on the west side of Columbus and want an Acura you only have one choice and it's not a good one. The last time I had problems it took two visits to fix it, the first time they didn't even offer me a courtesy car, I practically had to beg for one the second time. It took 10 minutes to check in, it was worse than getting rebooked at the airport when a flight's been cancelled. Called to schedule an appointment for a recall and was told everybody was busy. Left a message and 7 hours later still haven't heard back. I could go and on, since I've owned two Acuras, but I won't bore you. If I buy another one I'll buy it from Lindsey, and despite the fact that it's extremely inconvenient to get there and back, I'll probably have it serviced there too. It's a real shame Honda hasn't addressed the issues with this dealer. Buyer beware. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Good service, great car

I purchased a used 2007 Acura RDX from this dealer about three years ago. I found them to be easy to deal with and respectable during the negotiation process, and feel I got a fair price. I didn't have a trade-in, so can't comment on that part of the experience.

The car itself has held up very well under strenuous use. I now have over 130,000 miles on it. Other than an air conditioning repair, it's never required anything other than routine service. I like everything about the car but the navigation system, which seems lacking compared to others I've seen. In fairness to Acura though, I haven't purchased the update CD. Wish they would provide it free or at a reduced price.

When I take my car in for service, I am always greeted promptly. The waiting area, complete with wireless Internet access, cold drinks and snacks is very comfortable. I only had one minor service complaint (can't remember what it was now), but know it was addressed promptly.

Overall, I like this dealership and the service they provide. Wish they could get me in a little faster for scheduled oil changes (had to wait a week and a half for an appointment), but otherwise am fully satisfied.

Poor Service and Customer Service

Hello;
What a huge disapointment our purchase from you has been. Even though the car we purchased was used, we still would of expected top quality from an Acura dealership. Not only does the car shake our teeth out (even though your service department said they "checked" the balance and "checked" the alignment). Your service department said we could spend another $600+ (after we brought it back for the third time) for new tires and labor, thanks. The air conditioner does not work and the check engine light is on as well as one of the sliding doors sticks. So, we get to spend more money on getting these items fixed. After trading in a perfectly sound car, this is what we get.... Yes, we did purchase the car "as is", and we did test drive it. Shame on us. We are in business and we understand what "as is" means, but from the start your sales men told us they were aware of the shaking problem and the problem would be fixed, PROBLEM NOT FIXED.. We haven't asked you to fixed the air conditioner, the side door, or the check engine light. We asked for two new tires and we were denied. We didn't even ask for your service team to install them. You would only be out two new tires and we would leave happy and we would sing your praises. However, you will never be trusted from us again, let alone our friends and family as well as any social sites we can post on. You give used car dealerships a bad name.
